Connie McAdam, RSSW, CPGC
Registered Mental Health Counsellor
Connie offers private counselling for children, teens, adults, and families. Raised in Clinton and now a resident of Seaforth, Connie brings more than 20 years of counselling experience throughout Huron County, with a background in community mental health, primary care, addictions, and gender-based violence. She has had the privilege of supporting people through many different life experiences and challenges and values the opportunity to walk alongside clients as they work toward healing and positive change.
Connie takes a warm, down-to-earth, and collaborative approach to counselling. She believes that having a safe place to feel heard, understood, and accepted can make an important difference when life feels overwhelming. She works alongside each client to better understand what they are experiencing, build on their strengths, develop healthy coping strategies, and find approaches that fit their individual needs.
Her practice is integrative and client-centred, drawing from a variety of therapeutic approaches including Trauma-informed Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Compassionate Inquiry, and Brainspotting. Her work is grounded in trauma-informed, feminist, and anti-oppressive practice.
Connie supports clients experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, grief and loss, relationship and parenting concerns, addictions, self-esteem challenges, behavioural change, and life transitions. She is passionate about helping clients recognize their own resilience, develop greater self-understanding, and feel more confident navigating life’s challenges.
Outside of her counselling practice, Connie enjoys gardening, cooking, and spending time with her family. Having grown up in Clinton and continuing to live and work in Huron County, she values being part of the local community and providing accessible, compassionate mental health support close to home.
